The motifs of this year's series were designed by using free graphic design. They depict "Annunciation" and "The Nativity".

Endangered Species

The new series "Endangered Species in Germany" is intended to make the public aware of nature conservation and environmental protection.
The series will begin with the greater horseshoe bat species. Which is in danger of becoming extinct in Germany. The number of these animals has been suffering a major decline since the 1950s. In Germany the species which comprises around 75 bats is in danger of becoming extinct. The destruction of their habitats, hunting grounds and contamination of their food with pesticides can be blamed for the dramatic decline in the numbers of these animals.
Value: 100p.
Size: 35 x 35mm.
Print Ofset by Schwann-Bagel, Mönchengladbach.
Design: Hilmar Zill.
