Joint stamps issue

The Sveaborg Fortress stamp booklet is a joint release by Finland Post and Postal Service of Sweden. The stamps were issued simultaneously in both countries.

Old frigates and fortress

The three stamps of the booklet depict old frigates in front of the Sveaborg Sea Fortress. Behind the ships we can see different parts of the Fortress: behind the Frigate Pnjama there is the King's Gate, behind the Frigate Turkoma there is Tenaille Von Fersen and behind the Frigate Udenma the Bastion Hjorne.

Engraving

The stamps will bring engraving technique back to Finnish stamps. The engraver of these stamps is Swedish Martin Mörck. Erik Bruun drew the stamps. Issue: Finland, 4 May 2006
