Two new postage stamps

The two stamps on children's rights depict children at their most natural, creating and playing. The stamps were designed by the dog design team Eeva Sivula, lIona Ilottu and Petri Salmela. With their stamp designs they want to express all children's right to a good and happy life. Pottering and painting are natural forms of expression for children. This way, they structure their reality and tell us about their world, the designers justify their choice of subjects.

One stamp features a boy who is busy painting

The one stamp features a boy who is busy painting. We may construe the picture he is painting as a sprout, a heart or just as free playing around with colour. This stamp expresses the inner world of the child, his privacy and his creativity, which must have enough space to develop properly, the designers say.

Other stamp shows two girls playing

The other stamp shows two girls playing together. The girls are looking up at the viewer. The collage they are working on, a yellow sun, is in the background. This stamp emphasises the child's need for interaction and contact, to be accepted and noticed. Eeva Sivula photographed the children.
