New Swiss definitives for postcards
Sending postcards

To make sending postcards more practical for visitors to Switzerland, Swiss Post launched two new definitives under the title "Greetings from Switzerland".
Enjoy receiving greetings
Like all of us, you probably enjoy receiving greetings from friends and relatives when they are on holiday. And the pleasure is even greater if the postcard features a special stamp and the news from across the miles has reached you fast.
Stamps are unique
The "Cards Europe" and "Cards world-wide" stamps are unique in the history of Swiss stamps in that they feature no face value. These stamps are the outcome of co-operation between Swiss Post International, Switzerland Tourism and the Stamps and Philately Business Unit and are intended for use on postcards sent from Switzerland to foreign countries, either in Europe or overseas.
Tourism's emblem
The motif featured on both stamps is Switzerland Tourism's emblem – the well known golden flower with a Swiss cross at its centre. The two types can be easily distinguished from each other because the "Cards Europe" stamp has a blue background and the "Cards world-wide" stamp a red one.
The "Priority" bar included under the picture as part of the design ensures the cards are processed and delivered as priority items – a major advantage. Both versions of these self-adhesive stamps come in a handy booklet with six stamps.
