Joint issue

The Singapore – Switzerland joint issue was launched simultaneously on 20 September 2001 in Bern, at a small but dignified ceremony in the city's Botanic Gardens, and in Singapore.

Garden City of the East

Verdant Singapore is known as the Garden City of the East, so what could have been more appropriate than to use two typical examples of native flora as the unifying element in the joint issue.
Switzerland is represented by the edelweiss and the gentian, while saraca and the Singapore rhodondendron do the honors for Singapore.

Values: 70, 90, 110 and 130c.
Sizes: 98 x 68mm (sheet), 36 x 25 mm (stamps).
Perforation: 13.25 x 12.75.
Printing: Offset by Joh. Enschedé.
