A few examples: Ovide Decroly broke the tight straitjacket of the prevailing educational methods. Sigmund Freud discovered the importance of the subconscious. Ilya Prigogine demonstrated the movement of time in physics and Pierre and Marie Curie made important discoveries in the field of radioactivity.
