Time and time again more than 16.000 Flemish volunteers are prepared to help people in distress, no matter their race or conviction. The Red Cross volunteers never say no to a call for help. Even in their spare time or at night, they are on the move for hours… free of charge.

Assistance costs money

Of course, assistance costs money. Medicines, tents, resources… have to be purchased and kept in repair. Volunteers have to be instructed and trained and have to attend refresher courses regularly.
This year again the Red Cross fourteen-day action in Belgium was an overwhelming success, thanks to those who bought the stickers and thanks to thousands of volunteers who devoted themselves to this cause entirely free of charge.
