Concours Reine Elisabeth
Queen Elisabeth Competition

The "Concours Reine Elisabeth" (Queen Elisabeth Competition) grew from the "Eugène Ysaye" violin contest fifty years ago. Thanks to the queen's impetus, the contest rapidly grew into one of the most important in the world.
To encourage talented musicians
The aim was and still is to encourage young, talented musicians in their career. The violin and piano disciplines and, since 1988 singing, take place every four years. A compositions' contest is also organised regularly.
Because of its level of difficulty, the quality of its jury and world famous virtuosi, the event is still gaining in significance.
