New Belgian stamp

Sebti Rachid's enchanting picture shows a boy playing in water on the new Belgian stamp. He caresses the water, cherishes it and lets it soak through his fingers. We must indeed cherish water. Water, source of life for humans, plants and animals, and destruction of life. Obvious to us, but a bitter necessity for the peoples in the horn of Africa.

Blue Planet

Seen from space, the earth is "The Blue Planet": oceans, seas, lakes, ponds, rivers and brooks. Water is also found under the ground, in liquid, solid or gaseous condition. Just think of groundwater, the ice cap or water vapour in the atmosphere.
We really must reckon more with the scarcity of water and together watch over the quality of "water, source of all life!"
