Switzerland issued a stamp celebrating the 50th anniversary of the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). The stamp was printed in offset by Swiss Post Stamp Printers in Bern.

Refugees and displaced persons

Through its work on behalf of refugees and displaced persons, the UNHCR also serves the aims and principles of the United Nations Charter, namely to maintain international peace and security, develops friendly relations among nations and encourages respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
