Valentine

Valentine's Day

There are many stories about why we really celebrate Valentine's Day. According to the most common version the day has its roots in the third century. This day is celebrated in memory of Valentine, a saint who was clubbed to death by Roman emperor Claudius on 14 February 270 AD.
Valentine was known to be a great romantic that used to marry young Christian couples. Officially, marriages were forbidden at this time since they were said to prevent young men from becoming good soldiers.
