Millennium stamps collection

The Post Office's Millennium stamps collection won a prestigious design accolade placing it among exceptional examples of innovation and creativity from across British industry.
The 48 stamps comprising the 1999 Millennium Collection have been granted "Millennium Product" status by the Design Council. The news was announced by Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Post Office Group Managing Director Stuart Sweetman said:
"The stamps are The Post Office's celebration of the Millennium and this award pays tribute to all the superb artists and image-makers who have contributed to this success.
Britain, where the postage stamp was invented, has traditionally led the world in stamp design and has broken new ground with this collection."
