Key plate
A plate bearing a common design for a series of stamp denominations, or groups of colonial stamps, but leaving blank spaces for the addition of figures or name is called a key plate. These gaps are filled with a second plate, known as the duty plate.
Killer
A cancellation handstamp used to obliterate an adhesive and usually of so heavy a nature that it successfully "killed" the stamp to prevent re-use.
Stamps with such a postmark are not highly regarded by collectors.
Kiloware
Term used by dealers to sell mixtures of stamps on paper or off paper. In most cases unsorted modern material is sold in kilogram bags at a flat rate. Usually these mixtures contain many of the same stamps.
